AMES, Iowa – Senior Emma Hylen has been named the Player of the Week in the Big 12 by College Sports Madness. The native of Roseville, Minn., helped lead Iowa State to its first series sweep vs. Baylor since 2003. It was also the first three-game, road conference series sweep in program history.

Hylen went 2-0 on the week with a 0.60 ERA, tallying a pair of wins vs. the Lady Bears in 11.2 innings of action. She opened the series with by picking up a complete game victory, allowing just one run on four hits with three strikeouts in 7.0 innings of action.

The series finale was another dominant outing for the 6-3 hurler, who allowed just one hit in 4.2 innings of relief work, as she helped seal Iowa State's sweep in Waco. With the win, Hylen improved to 13-7 on the season.

Hylen, a senior, now ranks No. 9 on Iowa State's career strikeouts list with 285. She is already Iowa State's all-time lead in career saves with nine. Hylen's 2.78 ERA is on pace to be the best single-season mark by a Cyclone pitcher since 2010 (Rachel Zabriskie).
